SCHÖFFEL AUTUMN/WINTER COLLECTION 2020/2021
We find ourselves in the middle of our lives, juggling family, friends and work. There are plenty of challenges to face, with new ones cropping up all the time. But being in the great outdoors allows us to renew our energy, gain inspiration and recharge our batteries. Our “Ich bin raus” (“I’m outside”) slogan perfectly sums up this attitude to life in just three words. For us, it’s not about devoting ourselves to competitive sports. We just want to experience the great outdoors without any pressure, alongside our friends rather than against them, and the ideal clothing has its own role to play in this experience.
Schöffel began specialising in sports clothing as far back as 1967. Our guiding principle has remained the same ever since: our customers’ requirements are what drive our product development process. We still work in exactly the same way today, except that we now call it user experience. The same goes for sustainability. Though somewhat of a trend these days, sustainability has always been a priority for us. We call it responsibility – and Schöffel has always assumed its responsibility. This is reflected in our extremely high quality standards, our choice of materials and the use of new, lightweight and smart details, our working conditions and our commitment to our Schwabmünchen site in Bavaria. Transparency is another part of it: we only use materials that fulfil our high standards and have the necessary certifications. For our down, for example, we use only down that has been certified with the RDS (Responsible Down Standard) and we use high-end materials such as comfortemp® FIBERBALL, an artificial insulating fibre setting new benchmarks in terms of insulation, breathability and comfort. Intelligence also goes into the design of the clothing: we work according to the body mapping principle, which means that each item of clothing responds to the needs of each different part of the body. For parts of the body that sweat a lot, for example, highly breathable material is used; whilst in other areas, insulation might play a vital role and robust Cordura is incorporated in areas susceptible to wear and tear. Our entire collection has made a great deal of progress in the development of colour schemes: colours are used consistently throughout entire product ranges.
