Because the landscape won’t always go easy on you, discover the ultimate level of protection and performance of this upgraded version of our freeride helmet, INSTINCT. While its predecessor was already featuring a dual shell and AVID Progressive EPS construction, this new INSTINCT is now equipped with MIPS® technology, adding more protection against rotational forces to the brain caused by angled impacts. Like its predecessor, Instinct MIPS features BOA 360° fit system for precise size adjustment, making it ideal for your freeride escapes.
INSTINCT MIPS - Price : 149€ - Sizes from 51 to 61 cm - Available in 4 colors
The MIPS brain protection system is a helmet-integrated, low-friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts to the head.
MIPS works by installing a thin (0.5 to 0.7mm) ventilated and custom cut low-friction layer inside the helmet liner. The layer is held in place by an assembly of composite anchors that flow in all directions. In case of an impact, portions of force and energy are dispersed and spread out rather than a direct impact to the skull.
AVID Progressive EPS
Creating helmets that perform in all types of collisions requires getting the details exactly right. Using high density EPS ensures high energy impacts are effectively absorbed. Low density EPS however, provides superior performance in less severe medium energy impacts. Bollé helmets with the AViD liner technology combine high density EPS in the main structure with a low density EPS inner insert. This combination of materials is optimized with interior ventilation channels that - in addition to providing excellent airflow virtually decrease density to provide balanced performance across a range of impacts.
BOA 360° fit system
The INSTINCT features the award-winning B0A® System which provides a 360° adjustment system thanks to steel lace and nylon guides placed all around the head.
